Building permit values in the SCRD have increased dramatically since 2001.

• From $16 million in 2001, the 2003 total value was over $39.7 million
• After a slow period in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the SCRD has achieved record building activity in each of the last 3 years.
• 2006 permit values increased significantly and reached 73.3 million.
• 2007 permit values drop 14.6% from last year with an equivalent value of $10.7 million.
